Morning Meeting: develops a sense of community and belonging. It includes special greetings, notes to students, songs, games and sharing. Penmanship– is a brief section of Language Arts instruction where emphasis is placed on correct letter formation. A continuous stroke philosophy is used. Daily Language Review– places an emphasis on practicing proper editing and grammar skills. Shared Reading- consists of large group instruction with a big book. The text is read more than once in order to provide comfort and confidence in reading and to build reading skills. |
