“GUIDANCE HAPPENINGS”
SENIORS: If the college(s) you have applied to need to receive a mid-year report, (a copy of your grades including 1st semester grades for this year), you MUST put the request in WRITING or turn in the college(s)’ mid year report form. If not, NO grades will be sent!! -When you receive your college acceptance letter (s), please bring it to the guidance office so that we may make a copy. Also, bring in any scholarship letters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: Here is some advice from a college admissions officer: they have noticed a worrisome trend in transcripts from high school seniors who had completed most of their graduation requirements prior to their senior year. They opted to take a minimal and lightweight course load for their last year of high school, apparently thinking that senior year courses and grades did not matter in the college admissions process. YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO AVOID THIS MISTAKE. Colleges and universities definitely look at senior year grades AND course load. A lightweight or unchallenging academic load in the senior year can be the basis for a decision to reject an applicant. Make sure you continue to take a full and challenging academic load through both terms of your senior year.
OPEN HOUSE: LCCC is hosting a Spring Open House at the Schnecksville Campus Student Union on Wednesday, Feb. 20th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
