| |
| Most of the students from last year's successful season will return for this upcoming year. The group is the three-time Chapter 2 Class A Percussion Champion and a Finalist the last three years at the All-Chapter Championship sponsored by the Tournament Indoor Association, held each May in Wildwood, NJ. Last year the students earned the third place bronze medal in Class A TIA competition and were promoted up to the next competition class, Open Class, based on their skill level for this year. This was a tremendous accomplishment for a group largely comprised of student's without much percussion training prior to joining the group. |
|
| The indoor percussion program gives students with a musical background the opportunity to learn percussion instruments based around a show design that is similar to combining marching band and the theatrical prop design of a school play, all while marching on a basketball gymnasium court and playing percussion instruments. The group will compete 10 times this winter and spring between January through May. |
| The Director and Percussion Arranger for the program is Mr. Ken Sherry. |
| Mr. Greg Meyer is the Keyboard Instructor. Mrs. Janice Saltsman is the Prop Crew Coordinator. |
|
| The group has already started on this year's production and rehearsals are usually held once or twice a week at the High School. Students from grades 8th through 12th participate in this activity. The group would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Salisbury Music Association for their continued financial support of the program. |
