Memorizable.org
Gaining basic knowledge in the content areas is certainly important for students. The web can help make learning those basic facts a little easier with sites like Memorizable.org.

"This site is the home of memorizable tables, which are an efficient flashcard-like way to memorize information..."

To see what the potential is with this sort of tool, visit their Most Popular page for examples. I think sites like this beg the questions, "With the vast amount of information that is available to us through technology and access to the internet, what do we still need to have our students memorize? Are we asking them to memorize information that can more easily be accessed elsewhere? And do we get hung up on the memorization of facts at the expense of thinking and creativity?"

If you have an opinion you'd like to share, you can share it here on the Instructional Technolody Update weblog.
