Earlier this school year, a presentation titled, "Did You Know?" by Karl Fisch was making its mark on the internet. Th ought provoking, this presentation gives us some of the cold, hard facts about the world we live in, and how reality is/will impact us in the field of education. Since then, the presentation has appeared in many forms on the internet. Here is one that I think is particularly well done: Shift Happens.
Aside from the message, I think this exemplifies two very important trends in this new age we are experiencing. First, content can be more freely shared and, with correct citations, altered and customized. Second, virtually all new technologies demand us to demonstrate our creative skills. This short presentation demonstrates how "ownership" of information has changed, and how technology tools make it relatively easy for anyone to create and recreate content.
