Mission
Salisbury Township School District is a small student-focused learning community committed to preparing all students for the choices and responsibilities of both local and global citizenship.
Beliefs
We believe that:
- While the small population and geographic area of Salisbury Township School District present limitations, they also enable greater opportunity for personal relationships and collective creativity.
- Students learn best when they are academically challenged, engaged in active learning experiences and supported by educators passionately involved in the teaching/learning process.
- There is shared responsibility for excellence in learning among student, parents, educational staff and community.
- Salisbury Township School District must provide students with the tools and experiences to develop the skills necessary for citizenship in an ever-changing global community.
- As a learning community, the Salisbury Township School District promotes trusting relationships in order to create a safe, nurturing and secure environment.
- Understanding and appreciation of diversity enriches the learning community and develops respect for others.
- All relationships in the learning community must be mutually respectful.
- Salisbury Township School District has financial accountability to the community and must be committed to responsible allocation of all resources in order to meet current needs and assure long-term excellence of the school district.
District Goals 2007-08
- Improve learning for all students through the implementation of early literacy, academic literacy, and technology integration practices.
- Provide meaningful and relevant professional development to increase our knowledge and practices of early literacy, academic literacy, and technology integration.
- Develop a district strategic plan to set specific goals in order to continue transforming the organization to provide the highest quality learning opportunities for our students as well as strive for an environment in which all employees can be successful.
- Use resources effectively and efficiently in each building and throughout all departments of the school district.
