Handwriting
Handwriting in Fourth Grade is reviewed through daily practice.  Each child has a handwriting folder of the formation of each letter from A-Z.  Students are encouraged to practice in this folder which will be in the classroom.
Writing
In fourth grade the teachers and students 
concentrate on written language in the following areas: 
Focus- 
*identifies purpose for writing
*expresses ideas clearly
*supports main ideas with well developed details
Content- 
*uses information and details that are relevant and specific to topics
*shows evidence of well developed ideas 
Style-
*uses descriptive vocabulary and effective word choices
*uses a variety of sentence structures, types, and lengths
Conventions-
*uses grade-appropriate grammar, capitalization, and punctuation
*writes complete, well-developed sentences
Handwriting-
*forms cursive letters correctly
*writes legibly in cursive
Spelling- 
*spells and correctly uses grade-appropriate words
*uses appropriate resources to proofread
