Students' needs are met academically, socially, emotionally, and physically in a nurturing learning environment.

Students actively share responsibility for their learning in a flexible environment where the student has the opportunity to learn at his/her own level and support to excel through enthusiastic and effective teaching in an integrated curriculum which produces depth rather than breadth.

There are clear expectations for students, teachers, parents, and community members.

Teachers are given empowerment in the decision-making process and are also given opportunity for staff development and sharing with time to collaborate.

Administrators, school board and parents/community are supportive through positive communication and provide adequate funding for staff development, instructional materials, educational resources, and advanced technology.

More About Us

Western Salisbury Elementary School is located in the heart of the Lehigh Valley, at 3201 Devonshire Road in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Our building was originally built in 1960 and remodeled with additions in both 1965 and again in 1989.

The demands on our building have increased dramatically since then and we are presently utilizing our building at full capacity.

Our building houses kindergarten through fifth grades. Our present school enrollment is approximately three hundred students and we make special efforts to ensure small class sizes.

We consider our school community, "family". Parents, staff, and students work together and cooperatively for the good of all.

Our staff is dedicated to providing the best possible learning environment for our students and are aligned with the "Best Practices" findings in educational research.

Our parents (and the PTA) are dedicated to providing positive support, both to the teachers and students alike. Our students are dedicated to being the best they can be.
