Gifted Support Teacher is to assist teachers in meeting the needs of
gifted and high-achieving students. This is accomplished by providing
students the
opportunity to use challenging instructional materials that elevate

Health services provide mandated screenings and exams to assure a
minimum standard of health to enhance school performance.
Supplemental health education, providing first aid, and the
development of Individualized Health Care Plans to ensure all
students can attend school in the least restrictive environment, are

Learning
Support Teacher
Mrs. Bruns
The Learning
Support program at Western Salisbury Elementary School is one part
of the team approach for students at Western. It meets the
individual needs of students who qualify for the program.
Students receive support for academic success in both the regular
education and special education classrooms. The students'
educational program is tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual
student. |

Psychologist
The school
psychologist engages in psychological and educational evaluation,
teacher consultation, crisis intervention, determining eligibility
for special educational programming, and counseling in situations
where student's social and emotional difficulties are negatively
affecting their academic and school performance. The school
psychologist also works with the Instructional Support Team in
determining appropriate and effective strategies and interventions
for struggling students. |
